Central Archive

Luton aerial view 1967We sometimes get requests for old documents relating to our previous identities as an educational institution. We are happy to help where we can.

The University of Bedfordshire's central hard-copy (paper) archive is maintained by Governance & Planning and dates back in some instances to the early 1930s, when the College at Park Square was Luton Technical College.

The bulk of the records held date back to the 1990s, whilst we were the University of Luton, but we also have a limited number of records relating to our other previous names; Luton and South Beds College of Further Education (1950s), Luton College of Technology and Putteridge Bury College of Education (1960s) and Luton College of Higher Education (1970s and 1980s).
