I'm an Employability Officer at the University of Bedfordshire and an External Governor at The Bedford Group of Colleges.

My time at the University of Bedfordshire has been of great importance in my life - a great learning curve which helped me to become a successful professional. My journey from being a student to taking short term, part-time roles with various departments and then getting a permanent position at the Careers and Employability Service had given me so much confidence and a great sense of achievement. The time I spent at Beds and the wonderful skills and knowledge I gained alongside experience led me to join the University of Hertfordshire as a Careers Adviser and an External Governor with the Board of Governors at The Bedford Group of Colleges. I am also an entrepreneur running my own online design house where I use my artistic skills to create and design a variety of home décor and personalised items. The University of Bedfordshire prepared me not just to aim high but to fly high and recognise my strengths to achieve the best in my personal and professional life, and not only gave me a remarkable student experience but also proved to be a great place to work. Without any doubt – this is where my future begun!

Amazingly well - I was always under professional supervision as a student which has led me to establish my own design house.

Every department added great value to my student experience at Beds. I particularly enjoyed the best help from the Access and Outreach Team and the Career Service.

Incredible

Working as a volunteer at TreeHouse Faith & Community - helping a lot of students and organising and participating in various social events.

Beds can offer you all support and help for everything to become successful in your life, you just need to explore and get in touch with the right department. Student life at a university is not just to study and relax, it's an overall experience to become successful and be aware of all the amazing help available and utilise it. UoB is still like a second home to me - I still go back and meet the staff that have always been so helpful and supportive.
