University reduces its carbon emissions for fourth year running
In the last twelve months the University's carbon emissions have dropped by around 630 tonnes, compared with the previous twelve month period. The reduction in carbon emissions was assissted by an investment in a combined heat and power plant at the University's Bedford campus.
University to increase its renewable energy generation
In the last 12 months the University generated enough renewable electricity to power an average UK home for thirty years. This will increase to 45 years when the solar panels on the new STEM building are installed.
Free Bike for Students
In conjunction with Luton Borough Council the University is running a cycle training and free bike scheme for students.
University of Bedfordshire gains Eco-Campus Silver Award
On 16th of August 2017 the University of Bedfordshire was successful in gaining certification to EcoCampus Bronze and Silver Award.

Dr Diana Pritchard has been piloting, adopting and now promoting use of an engaging learning activity which generates profound understanding and insights about the world climate system, global negotiations and increases motivation to get involved or influence policy making.
