Research Retreat 2024

Research Retreat general event banner

In mid-January 2024, we are organising an overnight research retreat that welcomes both staff and PGR (Postgraduate Research) students.

This retreat offers a unique opportunity to dedicate two days to your research project with minimal distractions, regardless of its current stage. Whether you're looking to draft a chapter, immerse yourself in literature, plan a section of your thesis, edit publication drafts, analyse primary data, or strategise a large-scale project, this retreat provides the ideal environment for your needs.

Scheduled for 11th and 12th January 2024, the retreat will take place at Aubrey Park Hotel. When registering, please specify whether you require transportation to and from the retreat. Alternatively, you can make your own travel arrangements, and free parking is available on-site.

The retreat will consist of 1.5-hour working sessions with 30-minute discussion breaks in between. Meals will be provided throughout the two days and accommodation will be arranged for the night of January 11th. The University will cover all costs (except for your travel to the pickup point and any personal expenses on-site).

If you are interested in participating, please complete the form below as soon as possible. Please note that we have limited spots for this retreat, with a maximum capacity of 50 attendees. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those who have not previously attended overnight research retreats. The registration deadline is November 10, 2023.
