Bedfordshire Excellence Scholarship
Academic Year 2015/2016 - for reference only
The Bedfordshire Excellence Scholarship is awarded to high achieving students who achieve grades of ABB or higher at A-level or HEFCE approved equivalent in their studies prior to entering University.
It is worth £2,400 for the duration of the degree. It is awarded to students who are studying a course on campuses where the full tuition fee is payable and who enter year 1 of the course. £800 is awarded in the first year of study and continues into years 2 and 3 provided students maintain a 2:1 average at the end of each academic year.
For UK students, in the first year the scholarship will be paid to recipients in a combination of Aspire card credit (which can be used towards learning resources at John Smith's bookshop), print credit and flexible payment option.
UK students will receive three payments throughout the academic year. The first year payments are as follow:**
Payment type | Welcome Package, October 2015 | End of February 2016 |
---|---|---|
Aspire Credit | £300 | £150 |
Print Credit | £50 | |
Flexible Payment Option* | £300 |
You will receive a survey in November/December 2015 asking you how the flexible payment of £300 should be made. This can be a cash payment (directly into the bank account you receive your student loan), tuition fee discount, direct transfer to your accommodation provider or Aspire credit.
EU Students will need to contact SAB@beds.ac.uk to find out their payment plan.
