Charles Kpodo

Senior Lecturer in Clinical Human Factors

Charles Kpodo

My passion is to bring out the brilliance in others and help healthcare organisations to improve the quality and safety of healthcare through education, learning and development, consultancy and research.

I have worked with the National Health Service (NHS) for over 15 years as an excellent clinician and in senior nursing leadership roles ensuring compliance with regulatory standards on quality and safety across the the whole organisation as a lead reviewer.

My passion for improvement in quality and safety in healthcare extends to the Care Quality Commission as a Specialist Advisor and I've being part of the Governance Team inspecting and advising on regulatory standards across the UK in health and social care services.

I enjoy leading on new initiatives and I've led on various service improvement projects testing and learning from my failures and success to make a positive difference. This includes pioneering non medical prescribing in a North London NHS Mental Health Trust.

In November 2013, I joined the University of Bedfordshire's Faculty of Health and Social Sciences and I'm based in the Department for Clinical Education and Leadership.
