What is Clearing?

Clearing or Adjustment as it can also be known, is a process managed by UCAS that gives students the opportunity to find a course at university if they haven’t managed to secure one. If you haven't yet applied to university, you have changed your mind about your current course choice, or your circumstances have changed, then you can use Clearing to find alternative courses to study.

Who can apply for Clearing?

You can apply to Bedfordshire through Clearing if you haven’t made any applications. You can also apply if you declined all your previous offers, you have an offer but changed your mind or haven’t met the conditions of your offer you hold for another course or university.

How does Clearing work on UCAS?

  • UCAS list all university courses available in Clearing online and update this list continually, this is where you should look for a course you are interested in.

  • Create/log in to your UCAS Track account. If you are eligible, a Clearing button will have automatically been added to your UCAS Track screen.

  • Once you have received a verbal offer from us, and you want to accept, click 'Add Clearing choice' within your UCAS Track account and enter our institution details and the chosen course.

  • We will then receive this notification and confirm your place; this will show as an acceptance on the choices page of your UCAS Track account.
