UKSPF: Luton Sustainability Business Support Programme
The Luton Sustainability Business Support Programme is a new, comprehensive project funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF)
This strategic investment supports local businesses in Luton, particularly Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), in reducing their carbon footprint and fostering sustainable growth.
Why care about your carbon footprint?
Understanding and reducing your carbon footprint is crucial for:
- Cost Savings: Lower energy consumption and waste can lead to significant savings.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead of environmental regulations and avoid fines.
- Market Advantage: Attract eco-conscious consumers by demonstrating sustainability commitment.
Why invest your time?
- Access to academic experts providing tailored advice and strategies.
- Attend workshops and events where you can collaborate with other businesses going through the same journey.
- From 2025, UK and EU regulations will come into force, meaning that most small businesses will need to have a carbon reduction plan in place.
What’s in it for you?
- Enhanced Efficiency: Streamline operations and reduce waste.
- Competitive Edge: Position your business as a sustainability leader.
- Increased Resilience: Build a business that adapts to changing environmental and market conditions.
- Positive Impact: Contribute to a healthier planet while improving your bottom line.
UKSPF provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
