Community & Civic Engagement
The University is committed to becoming "an exemplar of a community that collectively and individually recognises the challenges of sustainable development at institutional, local and global levels".
We work with civic organisations and members of the community to share knowledge and promote awareness, understanding and actions relating to sustainability, and particularly to climate change.
Shown above are (left to right), Lucy Bywater (Bedfordshire Climate Change Forum), Dr Mark Atlay (Director of Academic Development), community member Eloise Watt, and student Breanna Banar who were amongst those meeting to discuss the challenges of climate change (July 2016).
We are proud that our practices contribute to building regional and local collaborations and partnerships with civil organisations, and with public and private organisations.
A series of activities are organised which involved the Bedfordshire Climate Change Forum and Luton Transition
