Care Leavers Bursary – Pre 2015 Entry
Terms and Conditions for application
This Bursary is for students who are currently open to and supported by a local authority leaving care service and fulfil the criteria stated in the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.
Evidence in the form of an original letter showing care leaver status is required from your Local Authority.
Applicants are expected to:
- a) Apply for the maximum student funding available and provide evidence (Student Finance England Breakdown letter/NHS Bursaries).
- b) Be enrolled on a full-time BA/BSc/Bed degree and registered as a student at the University of Bedfordshire, and provide evidence (copy of ID card once registered).
- c) Under 25 years of age at the start of the course being followed.
No assistance is available to those who have reached the age of 25.
While there are no restrictions on the nationality of applicants they must be normally resident in the UK.
Bursary applications must be received by the closing date. Late applications will not be accepted or considered.
The Bursary is paid in two instalments: February and April.
