Care Leavers Bursary 2022/23
The Care Leavers Bursary is available to all students under the age of 25 at the start of the course being followed and be currently open to and supported by a local authority leaving care service and fulfil the criteria stated in the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000; who are studying on a degree programme and paying £9,250 tuition fees.
While there are no restrictions on the nationality of applicants they must be normally resident in the UK and enrolled on a full-time BA/BSc degree.

As a care leaver, you are entitled to the following benefits
- If you join us we will provide you with clear information about support services, both through University website, handbooks and the student support centres across campuses.
- As well as giving you the first taste of independence, there is University accommodation which you can arrange for all year round stay in halls for the duration of your course.
- You will receive the £5,700 Care Leavers Bursary

How to apply for the bursary
Submit an application form each year of study for the Care Leavers Bursary. Application forms are available from Student Money Advice or online.
Evidence in the form of an original letter from your Local Authority confirming your care leaver status along with evidence of funding from Student Finance England/NHS Bursaries is required when applying for the Care Leavers Bursary.
