Fitness to Practise
Fitness to Practise regulations ensure that students meet professional standards of conduct for awards that lead to a professionally recognised qualification, for example Initial Teacher Training, Social Work and Midwifery.
When students register for a course of study subject to Fitness to Practise regulations, they will have to sign and abide by a course specific Code of Professional Conduct.
Fitness to Practise - Policy and Procedure [PDF] is not intended to replace the University’s disciplinary and academic offences procedures.
Where a student allegedly commits an act that is actionable under the University’s disciplinary procedure or academic offences regulations then these procedures must be completed prior to instigating action that would be applicable under the Fitness to Practise procedure.
