In order to make sure that our sessions can go ahead safely, we are complying with the rules put in place by England Hockey.

  • Must have a COVID Officer in place
  • England Hockey Participation Agreement must be signed by each individual
  • Use own equipment where possible. Where shared, it must be cleaned before and after every use
  • No balls should be collected and touched with the hand
  • 2m distance whilst training (2 stick lengths)
  • Online booking system, if possible staggered start and finish times.
  • Equipment and facilities must be disinfected after each session
  • Set up so players and coaches to not need to touch fences, gates, door goals etc where possible
  • Hand sanitizer must be provided
  • The number of 30 people on a pitch at any one time relates to a single group. Multiple groups can be on the same pitch if the groups are clearly separate and not mixing. Coaches can move between groups as long as they are socially distanced, and the group size remains 30 or under.

Club information

Currently, we have 1 Men's hockey team and 1 Women's team. Both compete in Midland 4 in the BUCS competition. Both sides are always welcoming new members with open arms - no matter what ability. Both sides not only train together but can be found socialising together as well. 

With strong links to Bedford Hockey club, there's always plenty of game time to have.

Venue

We are located at the Astro facility at Bedford campus. There are frequent trains from Luton, and a free University bus from the Bedford train station that stops at campus, with the venue just a few minutes walk down the road.

Regular Training times

There will be free travel for all competitive sports members from the Luton Campus. Come find us a Freshers for more information.

To join our team, follow these simple steps:

  1. Download the BUCS Play app form the app store
  2. Create at BUCS Play account using your STUDENT EMAIL ADDRESS and then search for Bedfordshire Hockey
  3. Pay for sports membership using the link below

Not too sure whether you want to join? Don't worry, you have until October the 31st to pay for a sports membership. Just complete steps 1 and 2 and then get in touch with us on our socials.
