Phoenix, The Fire Hare:

Phoenix, the fire hare, has special powers of bringing good fortune, so why not make a wish…

The mythical creature embodies the strength and harmony that we have across Luton and symbolises hope and resilience that one day your dreams can come true.

For many cultures both the phoenix and the hare are considered sacred animals, making it a perfect fit as a guardian animal to the multicultural and creative background of our town.

The sculpture is crafted by the visionary, Marta Zubieta, and the Phoenix shows how she embarks on a journey beyond the ordinary through her artwork.

You can find over 90 different sculptures of hares and tortoises dotted around Luton this Summer, as part of the immersive Short Tail Trail.

Brought to you by Keech Hospice with the University of Bedfordshire as the Community and Education Partner.
