The Luton Sustainability Business Support Programme was a fully funded initiative, delivered in partnership with Luton Council, to help local businesses reduce their carbon footprint and drive sustainable growth. Funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the programme provided practical guidance, expert advice, and tailored support to over 35 businesses in Luton.
Why was it important?
- Cost Savings – Cutting energy use and waste led to significant reductions in expenses.
- Regulatory Compliance – Businesses were able to stay ahead of evolving UK and EU environmental regulations.
- Market Advantage – Many companies attracted eco-conscious consumers and investors by demonstrating a commitment to sustainability.
UKSPF provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
