Luton is one of the most successful towns in England to attract businesses to start up and has one of the highest national rates for sustainable start-up businesses. The University of Bedfordshire has been instrumental in 479 of those, creating over 1,600 jobs and generating more than £44m revenue.
In partnership with Luton Council, the University of Bedfordshire would like to offer invaluable insight and guidance for those considering starting their own businesses. Together, we aim to maintain and enhance Luton's position as a town of limitless potential and offering opportunities to everyone.
Taking place on Tuesday 20th June at 10am - 12pm at our Luton Campus, the event aims to empower and guide individuals along the road to entrepreneurship. In addition, our speakers will offer insight and guidance to individuals looking to upskill and (re)enter employment. Delegates will also benefit from the experienced keynote speakers - entrepreneurs and industry experts – who will be able to offer invaluable advice based on their own experiences.
Attendees will also get an opportunity to:
- Gain the skills and knowledge to boost your career prospects and succeed in today’s job market
- Boost your confidence and motivation in your job search by connecting with like-minded individuals
- Find out about the benefits, processes and pitfalls of common types of business
- Learn where to find hidden resources to start your new venture
Wayne Cartmel, our co-host for the event, has personally experienced the journey of transforming an idea into a successful company with "MyNewTerm". Having done it all in Luton, he will provide valuable insights into both the challenges and triumphs he encountered along the way - sharing his story of perseverance and providing a unique perspective on the entrepreneurial experience.
Delegates will also get an opportunity to network after the event to build connections with their peers and attending organisations.
