Research support and key documents

Four students having a conversation

We recognise that, as a new research student, you may need guidance in areas like research methods and ethics. It's also important you have the opportunity to exchange ideas with your peers. So we have put in place initiatives and resources that ensure you are well supported within our friendly, inclusive research community.

The Postgraduate Forum was created to provide a forum for discussion of academic, social and administrative issues relating to research students. It is organised solely by research students and all research candidates are welcome to attend all meetings.

The Forum meets to discuss a variety of topics and the minutes and reports arising from these meetings are available on BREO.

We also care about your health and wellbeing while you are studying with us by offering a full student support service

The University of Bedfordshire offers a full programme of training sessions for students on research degrees. From the 'Introduction to the Teaching and Learning' to 'Advanced Literature Searching' and 'Research Methods' there are sessions available to support the researcher every step of the way.

We encourage our students to make full use of the training available. Our training programme is revised annually to reflect the changes in the world of research today.

Enrolled students can gain access to the Research Training Programme via BREO

All University of Bedfordshire students have access to the Blackboard virtual learning environment - BREO

All research students should have access to the Research Graduate School shell. If you are unable to see this when you log in please contact the RGS office.
