Aim and objectives

  • Develop a complimentary Pedagogical framework as a support to developing professional practice within the university of Bedfordshire: Achieved; Evidenced in the Toolkit
  • Measure the impact of a gamification framework on student attendance, aggregate grades, and qualitative measures of satisfaction: Achieved; Evidenced below

Collaboration

The interdisciplinary project team has worked beyond the original University of Bedfordshire (UoB) Project Boundaries that contained members of the Strategy & Management Department (Business School), of the Department of Healthcare Practice and the Department of Psychology to include close collaborations with:

  • University of Greenwich
  • Anglia Ruskin University

Target audience

The main targets of the resultant toolkit are fellow educational travellers and academics as well as practitioners and gamification designers.

Outputs

The main framework developed is based on an authentic, aesthetically-informed pedagogy of teaching and has three pillars as shown below (click on image to maximise):

The articulation of our developed pedagogy has led to the creation of a toolkit.

The gamification project had a wide reach as one can see in the below graph (click on image to maximise):

The main output has been the creation of a toolkit - PDF 2.8 MB and a web-based platform: teg.club

Furthermore, the work has been disseminated in a range of publications
