PASS Leaders

This scheme is designed to empower teams and students to collaborate across the University to support the progression and success of under-represented student groups whilst contributing towards key strategic Access and Participation milestones.

PASS Leaders, who are recruited to support this scheme, will not only benefit from a bursary but will play a key role in supporting their under-represented peers to succeed and progress within higher education.

Additionally, full training and ongoing support will be offered along with a dedicated mentor to help build confidence and the relevant skills and knowledge needed to provide effective PASS Support.

Benefits for Students

Being a PASS Leader will essentially help students to develop and evidence their:

• agency through involvement in ‘student as partners’ programmes which aim to bring the student voice and contribution into teaching and learning and the student experience.
• transferable 21st skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, communication, flexibility, leadership and social skills to enhance employability.
