Survival guide for your final year at University
Fri 16 February, 2024Student blogger Zuhayr shares her top tips for surviving your final year at university.
The final year of university is one of the most exciting chapters of your university journey. It’s the end of years of hard work and dedication and is one of the fastest and slowest years of your university experience.
Balancing your studies with your social life and extracurricular activities whilst keeping sane can be challenging, but remember, everyone is in the same boat. So here are some tips to help your final year go as smoothly as possible.
- Create a realistic schedule
When balancing a number of projects along with your social life and other commitments, establishing a realistic schedule will help you stay on top of it all. Break your tasks into manageable chunks and allocate specific time slots for everything. It is also important that you give yourself time to break and allow yourself time to switch off from work. A well-organised schedule will help you stay on top of responsibilities and reduce the feeling of having too much on your plate.
- Prioritise self-care
It is so important that you make your mental and physical wellbeing a priority. Incorporate self-care activities such as exercise, a balanced diet, and sufficient sleep into your routine. A healthy lifestyle contributes to improved concentration and productivity, giving you a positive mindset to tackle your assignments and revision. Make the most of the University’s free gym membership and free sports programme and prioritise moving your body.
