Dr Alison Tresidder, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences at the University of Bedfordshire, will open the conference before handing over to a range of guest speakers including an address from Mike Donnellon, President of the College of Operating Department Practitioners. Other speakers include:

  • Dr Charmara Warnapura, Consultant Intensivist and Anaesthetist, who will lead a discussion on the Intensive Care Department and Operating Department Practitioners
  • Amy Brewster, Lead for Resuscitation at Bedfordshire Hospitals
  • Professor David Hewson, Professor of Health & Ageing at the University of Bedfordshire

Inspired by National Operating Department Practitioner Day on 14 May, the theme of this year’s conference is ‘Inspiration and Awareness’ with the aim to raise awareness of the role, its importance and the ever evolving role of ODP’s.

Following the keynote speakers, there will be time for a Q&A and discussion section before the conference closes.

Chloe Merlo, Lecturer in Operating Department Practice at Bedfordshire, organised the conference. She said: “This in-person event is a great opportunity to network, learn, and grow in your field. Whether you're a student, practitioner, or just interested in the industry, this conference is for you. Come and be inspired by our keynote speakers and connect with fellow ODP professionals.”
