Here, first-year student Aamna Sheraz discusses how her studies are preparing her for a career in the aviation industry and how the supportive learning environment has enabled her to thrive…

I have just completed my first year studying Aviation and Airport Management. I chose this course because I am a keen aviator and am passionate about aviation.

I really enjoy the environment that is created. The lecturers are supportive, and the lessons delivered are interactive. There is also additional support from academic staff which I find helpful.

The aviation industry has many career opportunities since it is a major industry. Becoming a pilot is the dream but I would also like to have a solid understanding of how the aviation industry runs which is why I have decided to study this course.

After completing four modules in my first year, I have a solid foundation of knowledge and feel like I have a decent amount of knowledge about the industry that I am looking to go into.

Always go for a university that puts its students’ needs and opinions first and provides them with the support that they will need to succeed. Whatever course you pick, be ready to do the work that comes with it – even if it is in something that you are passionate about.
