Aviation & Airport Management student, Oualid Aattouch, explains how he juggles raising a family and a busy job at London Luton Airport alongside his studies…
I am currently studying Aviation & Airport Management at the University of Bedfordshire. My choice was based on my passion towards aviation and safety in general.
Due to my work commitments and being a single father of three young kids, flexibility and support is what I needed the most, I have always been happy to work hard and do my best, but time constraints were my biggest challenge. The support of the teaching board is amazing, they are very approachable and they never delay any help. The course itself is well tailored and gives you valuable insights into aviation and managing skills.
Aviation is a vast world and there is a lot to learn about, however, since safety is the backbone of aviation, I am willing to learn more about the health and safety and become a qualified HSE professional in aviation.
My experience at the University is amazing, giving me strong foundations to build a successful career and achieve my dreams. The knowledge and skills we learn every day as students are paving the road ahead for us.
Attending the course has boosted my confidence and strengthened my drive, in both my personal and professional life. The skills I have learnt and the knowledge I have acquired from the course opened my eyes to my true potential and what I can achieve.
Starting a degree is one of the biggest steps a person can take in their life; it takes courage and commitment. I can’t lie, studying is very challenging, but when you equip yourself with passion, nothing can stop you and challenges will turn into opportunities. So, my advice is to recognise your strengths and choose the course that will make you look forward to the next day of your course because you are so hungry and excited to learn about what you are passionate about.
