Having received the most votes by the public, the University’s online Open Day event came out on top after competing against a number of other universities from across the country.

The University of Bedfordshire earned this award thanks to the efforts of the Recruitment, Outreach, Admissions & Marketing (ROAM) team, who were tasked with designing a remote way to engage students following the requirement for virtual events during – and since – the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bedfordshire’s winning virtual open day included opportunities for potential students to gain information on courses, discover the variety of free support services on offer, and to network with current students and academic staff.

Bob Cozens, Director of ROAM, said: “A huge congratulations to all our colleagues who had the vision and persistence to source and develop a quality online open day platform during lockdown. The platform enabled our enquirers to have quality engagement with the University when they could not visit us in person. It should also be noted that stakeholders across our institution contributed great content which was a success factor in winning this award.”

Following the success of the online event, the University now incorporates remote access Open Days into their activity schedule to ensure every potential student and their guardians are able to gain insight into what Bedfordshire has to offer.
