All Bedfordshire students to benefit from Bursary or Scholarship
Thu 19 August, 2021All full-time UK students applying to the University of Bedfordshire are guaranteed to receive up to £2,400 in cash when they study an undergraduate degree.
The University is dedicated in supporting its students and is investing in their future by offering all those on full-time undergraduate courses a Bursary or Merit Scholarship, providing additional financial support during their studies. Debt and lifestyle costs are usually a big concern for students, so Bedfordshire hopes this additional funding – which does not need to be paid back – will help alleviate some monetary pressures.
Home students who can demonstrate a high level of academic achievement by scoring 112 UCAS tariff points or more, will be awarded a Merit Scholarship worth £2,400 which will be paid in cash over three academic years.
All other UK applicants will be eligible for Bedfordshire’s Bursary which will provide them with £1,500 over three academic years, or £1,000 for those on two year courses. Students joining the University in level 5 of their course will also be eligible for the Level 5 Bursary.
Bob Cozens, Director of Student Recruitment & Admissions, said: “If there’s one thing that concerns most students, it’s the idea of debt and how to cover the cost of university, so we don’t want this to be a worry for our students. Here at the University of Bedfordshire we believe that finance should not be a barrier to accessing University, so we offer a wide range of scholarships and bursaries to support students' studies in the form of cash that doesn't need to be paid back.
“Our Merit Scholarship and Bursary can be a huge benefit, enabling students to use it how they wish – from accommodation costs to course materials to general costs of living. Our generous non repayable financial support is provided in addition to Government loans and support provided by Student Finance England.”
