Students from the University of Bedfordshire are in the running for accolades at this year’s Royal Television Society’s (RTS) East Student Awards.

TV Production students Lauren Harper, Holly Ferrier, Charley-Jo Said and Brigitta Sebestyen have been shortlisted in the Comedy & Entertainment category for their game show Have a Seat.

Fellow TV Production students Tony Cifaldi, Ivan Ignatovica and Capri Mcpherson-Noel are also in the Comedy & Entertainment category for the work on their music show Press Play.

Media Production students Daniel Read and Ben Parsons are in the Camera, Editing and Drama categories for their work on their show C0MB4T_W4RR10R.

Course Coordinator for TV Production Kathryn Wolfe said: “These nominations are well deserved and simply fantastic. The RTS Student Awards judge excellence and it is wonderful to receive so many nominations for our students’ work. I am very pleased that Bedfordshire is being recognised as producing top quality TV and Media programmes in the East Region. With so many nominations I really hope that we get through to the national finals in June.”

Senior Lecturer in Media Arts Dave Green said: “Dan and Ben are great examples of students who have developed a wide range of creative skills during their time at the University. This is reflected in the three nominations and the Media Production team are all proud of their success.”

The students will find out if they have won their awards at a ceremony on 15 March.
