MA Art & Design students showcase final projects at exhibition
Tue 26 September, 2017Students from the University of Bedfordshire’s School of Art & Design presented their work at special exhibition in Luton.
The MA Final Show featured work from students who have just completed the MA in Art & Design at Alexon House on Guildford Street.
The creations were an integration of research, critical thinking, practice and production around a chosen discipline.
The diverse themes in the show ranged from an exploration of bio-mimicry in spatial design to childhood memory and play therapy, from the representation of contact improvisation through print and notation to environmental designs for a vertical pyramidal ‘oxygen garden.’
Student Cristina Simen said: “It was a very rewarding experience to be able to showcase my work in front of the camera and people from the industry. I felt so excited and flattered to present my work and to receive all the appreciation and encouragement from the audience. This made me feel unique and special and I would like to thank everyone who helped me during this journey.”
Head of the School of Art & Design Dr Hedley Roberts said: “As the new Head of School, I’m incredibly impressed at the outcomes that the students have produced in their time with our tutors at Alexon House. The MA Art & Design course is a first class platform for students to develop their individual practice and to work collaboratively, both of which are key for success in industry.”
