Bedfordshire TV Production students have the X Factor
Wed 01 November, 2017Two TV Production students from the University of Bedfordshire are getting to grips with what goes on behind the scenes on The X Factor.
Capri Mcpherson-Noel and Vato Beridze are currently working behind the scenes on The X Factor live shows, having impressed during previous work placements on the Boot Camp and Six Chair Challenge segments.
Capri, 20, has been working as a logger, while 23-year-old Vato has been working as a runner, assisting the producers in all aspects of shows.
Capri, now in her final year, said: “It is a real pleasure to be part of such a huge show like The X Factor. The experience was just amazing and something I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. It really opened my eyes to the TV industry and showed me how much I want a career in TV and what career path I would love to achieve after university.”
Vato, who graduated this summer, said: “Working on The X Factor has been amazing. I have discovered how much work goes into the show and how many levels of pre-production there are.”
Course Coordinator for TV Production Kathryn Wolfe said: “Vato and Capri did a one-off work placement for The X Factor back in April, and since then they have been asked back time and time again to work on the live shows. This is exactly what we teach in the TV Production course, to enable students to thrive in a professional environment. There is nothing tougher than live mainstream entertainment - you need to be focused on the job in hand, work well in a large team and show initiative. I am very proud of both students.”
