Bedfordshire lecturer part of industry panel for Children’s BAFTA Awards
Wed 29 November, 2017A School of Culture & Communications lecturer from the University of Bedfordshire joined a panel of industry experts to decide the winner of a British Academy Children’s Awards.
Course Coordinator in TV Production Kathryn Wolfe joined a jury of industry practitioners to decide who should be awarded the Best Presenter category.
The jury decided that the accolade should be awarded to CBeebies presenter Maddie Moate for pre-school science show Did You Know?
Kathryn said: “This is the fifth BAFTA jury I have taken part in. It is an honour to debate with such experienced industry practitioners, and always a tough call to choose the four nominees and one winner. I am really grateful for this opportunity to keep up with industry trends and to take part in this prestigious event.”
The awards ceremony took place on 26 November at London’s Roundhouse and was attended by the world of children’s TV.
The expert panel included:

- Nigel Clarke, Children’s TV presenter CBBC, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon
- Helen Soden, Head of Children’s Twenty Twenty Television, RTS winner, BAFTA and Emmy nominee
- Steve Wynne, Joint MD Rival Media, former Executive Producer Disney Channel and Director of Production Warner Bros International Television
- Dom Gardiner, Gardiner Entertainment, Former Director of Acquisitions Walt Disney Television
- Vanessa Brookman, VP Content and Creative, Turner Broadcasting (Chair)
