The University of Bedfordshire has been revealed by a Go Compare survey as one of the most cost effective universities to study at in the country.

The Degree of Value survey carried out by Go Compare this summer broke down the cost of student life across the UK. It took into account a range of different costs including tuition fees and accommodation as well as food, laundry costs and travel expenses.

The survey revealed that the costs of studying at Bedfordshire were considerably lower and offered better value for money than at most other universities even coming in at almost half the price of the most expensive.

The cost of the University’s Halls of Residence were shown to be particularly good value for money.

Bill Rammell Vice Chancellor of the University of Bedfordshire said: “Picking which university to attend can be one of the most important decisions a person makes and we understand that finances can play a part in making that choice.

“At Bedfordshire as well offering great value for money across a variety of different living costs we also offer a guaranteed £450 bursary to all incoming full-time students in the form of a Your Beds Money Card

The University’s Welcome Package can be used towards a range of different university initiatives including buying core text books, a deposit towards a Go Global trip or even to buy membership to the University’s on-site gym. It also includes £50 print credit each year.

Places are still available at Bedfordshire for those considering starting university in September across a variety of courses including Travel & Tourism, Computer Science, Computer Games Development, Media Production, Graphic Design, Football Studies, Sport & Physical Education, Psychology and Performing Arts

The Vice Chancellor said: “We are running campus tours all week so I’d encourage anyone thinking about studying at Bedfordshire to come and look around our fantastic facilities. There is also the chance to meet our student ambassadors who can tell you more about what it’s really like to be a student here.”

The University is also holding its first Open Day of the new academic year on Wed 21 September.
