The new library and postgraduate centre at Luton campus are making extensive use of solar power.

The new library building at Luton campus has 146 photo voltaic panels on the roof as part of embedding sustainability into new buildings and reduce the carbon emissions of the building.

The electricity generated is used in the library to reduce the demand on the national grid. The University uses solar panels at several locations.

In the last twelve months we have generated 55,583 KWhs of electricity though our solar panels which has prevented 26 tonnes of Co2 being released into the atmosphere.
