Students who didn’t get the A level results they were expecting have been encouraged not to panic as Clearing opens at the University of Bedfordshire on Thursday 18 August from 7am.

Places are available on a wide variety of subject areas for those who may not have got the grades they were expecting.

The University’s Director of Admissions Bob Cozens said: “Students shouldn’t think that university is no longer an option if they don’t get the expected grades in their A levels. You can still succeed and get a good degree at Bedfordshire.

“We will make sure new students have the best possible student and learning experience, backed by high quality teaching, outstanding facilities and great student support. Not only that, the confidence and life skills that students get from going to university will stand them in good stead after they graduate and head off into work.”

He continued: “Clearing can be a stressful time but the important thing is not to panic. A little research and preparation goes a long way. If you have the slightest inkling that you may not get the results you’re hoping for, do some research and find out what your options are.”

The University’s Clearing hotline number is 0300 3300 073. Its Live Chat team will also be available to answer any questions prospective students may have about the courses available, studying at the University and university life in general by clicking on the live chat link at www.beds.ac.uk

“Draw up a shortlist of courses before you pick up the phone,” said Bob. “Make sure you have any questions you want to ask to hand, as well as your grades and UCAS ID number.”

Details of all the courses available, how to contact the University, campus tours and Open Days can be found at the University's dedicated Clearing website
