The league season may have finished but Luton Town’s Kenilworth Road has one last game to host. And it’s a big one.

For the second year running, University of Bedfordshire staff and students will take to the turf for the President’s XI v. Vice Chancellor’s XI, on 19th May, kicking off at 7pm. A penalty shoot-out, starting at 6pm, will precede the match.

No, there’s no promotion up for grabs, just pride and the title of who can let in the least goals!

Expect goals and gaffes galore, and no small amount of injuries (don’t worry, Sports Therapy students will be on hand), as students seek to prove that experience is no match for young legs. Meanwhile, the VC's team, which includes professional academics, lecturers and administrative staff (but definitely not professional footballers), will be looking for revenge after last year's 6-2 drubbing.

Last year's teams

A successful Student Experience Project, Bulls TV, will film and cover the match, with particularly memorable moments (own goals) making up the post-game highlights package.

As part of its continued sponsorship agreement with the League Two club, the University gets use of the 10,000-seater stadium (yes, that’s almost half of all Bedfordshire students) for one friendly game per year.

Tickets are available to anyone, so if you’re a Luton Town fan pining for some action at the Kenny before the new season, put the date on your fixtures list.

A £2 donation – going to RaG and Bedfordshire Students’ Union's chosen charities, Happy Days Children’s Charity and Keech Hospice Care – is suggested for tickets, which can be bought from the Beds SU Hatch or at the Maple Road entrance on game day.
