The University of Bedfordshire is working closely with Cobham Wireless to bring 5G to everyone.

4G is right at the cutting edge of mobile technology right now. It’s 50 times faster than 3G, letting users comfortably stream movies and live sports with nary a buffer in sight. Full HD films can be downloaded in less than 5 minutes. However, with next-generation 5G technology, a full HD film can be downloaded in less than a second and near real-time communication will become a reality.

Right now, the University of Bedfordshire is working closely with Cobham Wireless to bring 5G to everyone.

Rapid development is taking place to realise the full potential of 5G. The UK leads the way with the University of Surrey setting the current speed record for 5G at 1Tbps (making it 65,000 times faster than 4G).

The University of Bedfordshire’s Dr Yue Zhang, a domain expert in digital and radio frequency (RF) design, is working with Cobham Wireless to develop a number of technologies that will speed up further research in 5G.

Through the innovation of crucial testing equipment and research into how to use frequencies efficiently, the University of Bedfordshire is on the cutting edge of 5G.
