Disability Resource Centre
Thu 06 August, 2015The Disability Resource Centre (DRC) approached the University to help decide on the best software solution to run their operations.
The Disability Resource Centre (DRC) is an independent registered charity that supports disabled people by keeping them at the centre of all its decision making. They offer independent advice and information to disabled people and their carers to enable them to have choice and control over all aspects of their lives.
For the DRC to successfully provide their services (advice, training, hiring out rooms/equipment etc), they require a robust and up to date information system that can store and access the large variety and volume of data that's collected as part of their work. The current system that the DRC use is being stretched beyond its capacity.
To help decide on what system would best suit their needs, the DRC approached the University of Bedfordshire to identify the best solution from the multitude out there. The system would need to be easy to use, and accessible from anywhere, so that staff and volunteers can deliver better service.
Dr Antony Brown scoped out the requirements of the project and provided a report to the DRC that will allow them to better identify the best solution for their particular needs.
