Dr Yannis Pappas, Head of the PhD School in the Institute for Health Research at the University of Bedfordshire, was invited by the London Deanery to lead a course in their Academic GPs Training Programme.

The London Deanery is a clinically-led organisation with responsibility for around 12,500 doctors and dentists in foundation, core and higher speciality training programmes as well as offering significant support for those in established practice.

Academic GPs enrol in an induction programme where they receive intensive training in research methods, literature reviews, writing for publication and funding applications.

Dr Pappas said: "Our inclusion as a contributor on this prestigious training programme is a clear indication of the reputation of the Institute for Health Research and the University. I am delighted to continue delivering training for the London Deanery and it is a unique honour for the University of Bedfordshire, as we are the only non-medical school to contribute to this programme."
