Bedfordshire student lands job with Luton Town FC
Mon 09 June, 2014A University of Bedfordshire Business School student is to start work for Luton Town FC – a matter of weeks after finishing her studies.
Luton resident Esther Solomon, who completed a Business Studies Degree in May, undertook a 12-month internship with the football club’s Commercial Department during her second year at the Luton campus in 2012-13.
“I was busy applying for graduate jobs, and then I got a phone call from Luton Town a couple of weeks ago with the offer of a permanent position,” said Esther, who starts her new job as a Commercial Assistant with the Hatters at the end of June.
“To be presented with the offer of full-time employment so soon after finishing University is an amazing opportunity. I am really looking forward to returning to the Club, which has a real family feel to it, with no day being the same working for the Commercial team.”
Assisting Luton with their Commercial activity during her internship, Esther’s duties largely concentrated on arranging events, including the Club’s annual end-of-season dinner and kit launch.
“Esther did an excellent job during her internship and I had no hesitation offering her a permanent role after she completed her studies,” added David Hoskins, Luton’s Commercial Manager.
“What particularly impressed me about Esther is that she’s an incredible saleswoman, extremely organised and very reliable. These characteristics – aligned with her creative nature and bubbly personality – resulted in her becoming a valuable member of the Commercial team. We are delighted to welcome her back.”
