The University of Bedfordshire gave a warm welcome to academics from Shanghai University when they arrived at the Luton campus last week to strengthen their formal academic partnership

The guests came to meet Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Relations) Professor Ashraf Jawaid, senior managers and faculty members to discuss opportunities to expand collaboration and deepen our links.

Jiemin Tomita from the International Office said: “This visit was very constructive. The members of the delegation were especially grateful for the information and advice we have provided. They were impressed by the university‘s facilities during the tour of the university.”

The guests had the chance to look around the facilities for the Faculty of Creative Arts, Technologies and Science (CATS). Around £12m has been invested in the computer and media departments since 2006.

They visited the £40m brand new student accommodation at Fitzroy Court, which was officially opened last November by Dame Kelly Holmes. They also visited Putteridge Bury Campus on Hitchin Road.

They were able to look around Luton town centre and the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) at the University.
