Research Designs - What are the Issues Being Studied?
Here we consider descriptive research, introduce the use of surveys, what routine data collection is and introduce you to the concepts of 'reliability' and 'validity' of statistics.
By the end of this session you should understand:
- what a variable is;
- appreciate different types of variable and how these can be applied to quantitative research;
- what a standardised instrument is;
- key types of reliability and validity.
