Course sessions

Making Social Work Count has involved Bedfordshire, Bath and Queen's University Belfast preparing and delivering ten core sessions of teaching in relation to quantitative research for undergraduate social work students. On this website the material developed are shared for use in any social work course.

The sessions can be used as provided, but have been designed to allow editing by lecturers who use them. Similarly, lecturers may wish to use all or just some of the sessions.

For each one of ten sessions there will be:

  • Clear explanation of the purpose of session
  • Teaching resources
  • Individual and group tasks
  • Learning resources

The sessions are presented here in an order that is logical and cumulative. It has three sections: section one covers an introduction to Why Numbers Matter. Section two looks at Research Design. Section three focuses on the Presentation and Analysis of numerical information.
