Fundraising

Many of our students and staff take part in fundraising activities for local and national charities, whether through taking part in the latest social media challenge, to holding a bake sale within the University.

Previously students have undertaken fundraising activities for two local charities, Keech Hospice and Noah Enterprise.

Keech Hospice is based in Luton and provides care for both adults and children with life-limiting or terminal illnesses.

The team at Beds SU held fundraising events in November and December, asking students and staff to donate sensory and tactile toys for children at the Hospice, so that every child received a present at Christmas.

Students from the Applied Social Studies Student Society also held a collection at the University for Noah, a homeless charity based in Luton, collecting clothing, toiletries and blankets to help disadvantaged people in the Winter months.

Raising money or essential materials for charities is great for many reasons. As well as knowing that you have helped someone in need, it can also enable you to use and develop many transferable skills such as project management, design skills, and organisational skills.
