Dr Monika Roopak

Lecturer in Cyber Security

Monika Roopak holds a PhD in Cyber Security in IoT Networks from Newcastle University, UK, along with extensive experience in research, academia, and industry. With strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, she excels in teaching, mentoring, and collaborative projects. Her research interests encompass cyber security, physical layer security, threat modeling, railway crack characterization, and the development of intrusion detection systems. Her expertise spans deep learning techniques, machine learning, image processing, and high-performance computing, complemented by proficiency in tools such as Keras, TensorFlow, Python, MATLAB, and .NET. Her career includes roles such as Lecturer in Cyber Security, Post-Doctoral Research Associate contributing to EPSCRC secure Internet of Energy research, and Research Fellow focusing on digital forensic investigations. Her dedication and achievements have been recognized through awards, including Best Paper at the ICAPS 2023, the 2021 IET Networks Premium Award, and the Best Paper at IEEE CCWC 2020.
