Centre for Cloud Robotics & Connected Intelligence
The Centre for Cloud Robotics & Connected Intelligence (CCCI) is leading the way in developing innovative technologies for cloud robotics by leveraging connected intelligence and generative AI. Recognized by the EU Innovation Radar as a Key Innovator in robotics and networking, CCCI aims to translate cutting-edge cloud robotics research into successful industrial applications, including:
- Fully orchestrated robots for logistics, transport, and Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR)
- Software-defined factories for Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS)
- Trustworthy AI for healthcare and additive manufacturing
Our applications: Facilitated by AI and cloud computing, our robot solutions have been adopted by various industries. Examples include:
- Transport Robots for last minutes delivery: BringAuto, Czech Republic
- MaaS Robot Cell: TWI, Cambridge, UK
- Cloud-based Intelligence for PPDR and Logistic Robots: Valencia, Spain
Our software solution is named CRoP. It was showcased at ICRA 2024, one of the most prestigious events in robotics, as a special tutorial. The ICRA reviewers highly praised the cloud robotics solution presented by the CCCI, stating that “CRoP is essential for embedding robots into 5G networks to exploit edge and cloud computing resources” and that “CRoP will enable cloud-robotics in real-world environments.”
