Policy reports
Our institute collaborates with a wide range of organisations, including research institutes, ethics committees, medical associations, charities, the Department of Health, all-party parliamentary groups, and other key stakeholders, to inform policies and strategies on organ donation in the UK. These collaborations for aiding evidence-based policy approach are not only within the UK but globally. Through rigorous research and meaningful community engagement, we have produced influential policy reports addressing critical challenges in organ donation and transplantation.
These reports provide evidence-based insights to support informed decision-making, aiming to increase the number of organ donors while addressing cultural, religious, ethical, and legal considerations. Key areas of focus include:
- Enhancing donor registration and informed consent processes
- Addressing challenges related to religion, culture, and ethnicity
- Developing ethical frameworks for controlled donation following circulatory death
- Advising on taskforce priorities within the UK and across European Union countries
