Research Interests
My scholarly interests range widely, from cultural theories and cultural diversities such as different communication styles, motivations and different social conventions and values to communication per se and the role of language and culture in the communication process. My work in the classroom has provided me with the inspiration as well as a PhD research. In this project I investigated motivation change in international teams and its influence on their performance with a special attention paid to aculturation processes and depresion. Another area I am interested in is diverse aspects of international business negotiations with a special view to culture and national identity as cultures change rapidly especially through globalization processes. In addition, I hope to carry my interests in concepts of face and rapport management and their effect on interpersonal relations into the classroom.
