Ralph Lonzanida
Course Co-Ordinator Apprenticeship and Senior Lecturer in Operating Department Practice
I am Ralph Lonzanida, a new addition to the team and working as a lecturer in Operating Department Practice. I am an alumnus of the University of Bedfordshire. I have worked as an Operating Department Practitioner in both NHS and the Private sector. I ensure that all my learners have a deeper understanding of the challenges of being an ODP. I achieve this by doing clinical work during my spare time (if I get any).
I have a passion for learning knowledge and development in education. I have done my Degree in Leadership and Management in Healthcare. And have started my Postgraduate certificate in teaching next September.
I aspire to be able to link theory and practice because I believe that evidenced based practice is the way forward. I am approachable, and my teaching style (transformative learning) empowers students and encourages them to be more proactive and interactive. Doing this prepares my learners to be more independent and critical, personally and professionally.
