Lecturer in Paramedic Science

I come to the University of Bedfordshire with 25 years of NHS experience. 16 of those as a frontline Paramedic with an NHS ambulance service. My passions in practice lie with mental health, palliative care and supporting learners in the practice environment. I very much enjoy mentoring students in the workplace as a formal practice educator. I am working towards a Post Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Education.

I have project managed pilot schemes including multi-agency working projects with the Police and Fire Service and mental health street triage for Paramedics. I still work in operational practice, alongside hours in a clinical management and advice role in the Emergency Operations Centre for the East of England Ambulance Service, this includes clinical assessment and remote clinical advice for all grades of staff.

I am pleased to be developing the academic aspects of my career with the University and furthering my educational studies. I’m excited to be part of a team offering a varied programme of learning for Paramedics of the future.
