Chloe Merlo
Couse Co-Ordinator and Senior Lecturer in Operating Department Practice
I have been an Operating Department Practitioner since qualifying with the University of Bedfordshire as a student in 2017.
Having taken a keen interest within the anaesthetic speciality specifically the management of shared airway, difficult airway and emergency anaesthetics, I obtained a team leader position and furthered my career from there.
I gained an interest in teaching students after running a series of simulation sessions and seeing the students thrive thereafter. This then opened the prospect of seeking a full time teaching role.
I took up the position of Lecturer for the Operating Department Practice course in May of 2022 and progressed to a senior lecturer and course coordinator role shortly after and am continuing personal development within the University for future growth.
