Cara Burgess

Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2004 from the University of Salford, completing my BSc (Hons) with first class honours.

I have a varied career in both therapy and management with a wealth of experience and dedication for patient care. My experiences both clinically and managerially are ideal to provide effective and current knowledge and understanding of the current work practice for Occupational Therapists. I am a highly motivated and dedicated Specialist Neuro Occupational Therapist with 20 years' experience of working in the NHS and non-NHS organisations.

I am passionate about Occupational Therapy as a profession and embrace the opportunity to support future Occupational Therapists on their professional journey.

I took up my position as Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at the University of Bedfordshire in 2022 and am excited to be part of an innovative and creative Occupational Therapy Course.
