Senior Lecturer in Social Work

Teaching has always been my passion and having taught social work since 2013 in both Further and Higher Education settings within the UK, I have thoroughly enjoyed mentoring students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Over the past years in my teaching career, I have developed keen interest in research and do enjoy supervising students in their research projects at various levels whiles embedding research into my teaching and practice. I have also adopted a learner-centred approach and used innovative, creative and research-informed methods in supporting students’ learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Students’ satisfaction, wellbeing and progress are my top priority and therefore aim at engaging with learners at various stages along their career journey to achieving their own set goals and objectives.

As a qualified social worker and a Senior Lecturer in Social Work, I believe passionately in the principles of human rights, freedom of speech or expression, social justice, equal opportunities, and respect for others regardless individual’s background or identity. Also, as a qualified scientist I believe in environmental justice, climate change and its impact on society, and that social workers have a duty as far as raising awareness of climate change is concerned and playing a key role in tackling the impact of climate change on society using evidence-informed social work interventions.
